Spent a week in Little Rock, Arkansas. Just a 7 hour drive from KC. Was a good trip. Stopped in Ozark, Arkansas for some BBQ since I saw all the damn road signs for it. I know the jokes about Arkansas... and most of them are true! HA! My waitress there had seriously.. no teeth. However, food was great. I worked with headliner Bud Andersen, who by the way, is the king on puns! I couldn't get in a full sentence without him having something smart to say. It was freaking funny as hell. Didn't do much during the day except watch college basketball and watch my bracket go to hell. Also worked with feature Lavantor who was really funny. The entire crew at the Loony Bin was awesome. We all hung out every night and BS'ed over a few drinks. I also had some really good BBQ there called Whole Hog BBQ. Meat had a great taste, but their sauce was amazing. So I brought it home. I left Little Rock sunday around noon and drove to Ft. Wayne, Arkansas and decided to make a detour to Tulsa, OK and watch the Jayhawks! Great idea! Watched the Texas/Arizona game go down to the wire, then watch the Jayhawks take down Illinois to advance to the Sweet 16! All in all a great week. One of the best so far... more stuf
Just finished a fun week in Wichita, Kansas at the Loony Bin Comedy Club. It was a great week. I worked with Sid Davis and Steve Kramer. Worked with Steve a few times here in KC. His show is awesome. Was also nice to meet Sid Davis. Super funny guy and also helped me work on some of my jokes. Both Steve and Sid were great with advice. The owner and employees took good care of us and made sure we were fed. Big shout out as well to Danny and Pig In, Pig Out BBQ crew for keeping us fat and happy. I also look forward to working the other Loony Bins.
Up next, I will be at the KC Improv located in Zona Rosa up north. Wednesday I will take part in the professional showcase, then Thursday though Sunday I will be the emcee for Tony Rock. Tony Rock is Chris Rock's brother. Dude is freaking funny as hell. So it should be a good week. If you want to come out, let me know! |
